There are authors who write books, and then there are visionaries who build movements. Destinee Brown, Co-Founder of Together We Create 4 Kids (TWC4K), firmly belongs in the second category. What began as a personal calling to create stories that inspire children has evolved into one of the most dynamic grassroots literacy movements in the country — a national platform that unites authors, educators, speakers, and community leaders around a single, powerful mission: to empower every child through the gift of storytelling, literacy, and community.
Based in West Palm Beach, Florida, Destinee Brown wears many hats — author, artist, entrepreneur, and co-founder — but she would likely tell you that her most important role is that of a bridge builder. Through Together We Create 4 Kids, she has helped create a space where creative professionals and community leaders don't compete; they collaborate. They don't just sell books; they change lives. In a landscape where children's literacy rates remain a national concern, TWC4K represents a bold and community-centered solution.
Her vision, her voice, and her mission are resonating with parents, educators, entrepreneurs, and changemakers everywhere who believe that children deserve more than textbooks. They deserve champions.

Destinee: Briefly describe your role within the TWC4K movement and how you serve your community through this work:
I serve as a cofounder and visionary leader within the Together We Create 4 Kids movement, helping build a national platform that brings authors, speakers, educators, and community leaders together to empower children through literacy, creativity, and collaboration. Through my work in West Palm Beach, Florida, I focus on creating opportunities for children and families to access books, educational resources, mentorship, and positive community experiences.
My role includes organizing community events, connecting authors and vendors with families, and helping lead initiatives that place books directly into the hands of children. I believe literacy is a powerful tool for transformation, and Together We Create 4 Kids allows us to combine storytelling, education, and entrepreneurship to inspire the next generation.
Through this movement, I aim to help build a culture where collaboration replaces competition and where communities work together to uplift youth. By creating spaces where children can see authors, leaders, and entrepreneurs who look like them, we are helping them imagine new possibilities for their future while strengthening the communities they grow up in.
Destinee: What is your purpose, and how does the work you do align with serving children, families, or your community?
My purpose is to use my gifts as an author, creator, and community builder to inspire children and strengthen families through literacy, storytelling, and collaboration. I believe stories have the power to heal, teach, and open doors in a child’s mind that they may not see in their everyday environment. Through my work, I strive to create opportunities where children can see what is possible for their lives.
As one of the founders and organizers behind the Together We Create 4 Kids movement, my role is to help bring authors, speakers, educators, and community leaders together to serve children and families across different cities. Through our conferences, community events, and literacy initiatives, we are working to place books directly into the hands of children while creating spaces where families feel supported and inspired.
My journey as an author and entrepreneur has taught me that collaboration creates greater impact than competition. Together We Create 4 Kids was built on the belief that when creators unite with a shared purpose, we can create real change in our communities. Through this movement, we highlight diverse voices, celebrate storytelling, and provide children with access to books, mentorship, and positive role models.
Destinee: Why did you feel called to join the Together We Create 4 Kids Tour, and what impact do you hope to make through your involvement?
I felt called to be part of the Together We Create 4 Kids Tour because I believe our communities are strongest when we come together with purpose. My journey as an author started with a desire to create stories that inspire children, but over time that purpose expanded into something much bigger. I realized that books, storytelling, and collaboration could be powerful tools for transforming communities and creating opportunities for the next generation.
Together We Create 4 Kids represents a vision of unity, where authors, speakers, educators, entrepreneurs, and community leaders work together instead of competing. I felt called to help build and support this movement because I believe that when people align around a shared mission, we can reach more children, uplift more families, and create lasting change.
Through this tour, my goal is to help place books directly into the hands of children while creating meaningful experiences that inspire them to believe in their gifts, their voice, and their future. When children see authors, leaders, and creators who come from backgrounds similar to theirs, it opens their minds to new possibilities.
My long-term vision for Together We Create 4 Kids goes beyond events or conferences. I see it growing into a national network that builds safe, supportive communities centered around literacy, creativity, and opportunity for youth. I believe this movement can help develop programs, resources, and collaborative spaces that empower children while strengthening families and local communities.
Ultimately, the mission is about legacy building something that continues to serve children and communities for generations to come.

Destinee: What programs, initiatives, or events have you led or supported through TWC4K?
Through Together We Create 4 Kids, I have helped lead and support several initiatives focused on literacy, collaboration, and community impact. One of the key contributions has been helping organize and develop the national tour structure, which brings authors, speakers, vendors, and community leaders together in different cities to serve children and families through education, storytelling, and shared resources.
I have also helped develop collaborative book initiatives where multiple authors contribute stories and knowledge that can be shared with children and communities. These projects help ensure that books are not only created but also distributed into the hands of children who may not always have access to them. Literacy is one of the strongest foundations we can give a child, and these efforts help support that mission.
Another area I have contributed to is building platforms that allow creators to work together. This includes helping connect authors, speakers, and community leaders who want to use their gifts to serve youth and families. Through these partnerships, we are creating events, speaking opportunities, and collaborative programs that expand the reach of the movement.
I have also supported the development of outreach initiatives tied to the tour, including book donations, community gatherings, and programs designed to highlight positive role models for children. My goal through these efforts is to help create lasting systems where collaboration, literacy, and community support continue to grow long after the events themselves.
Ultimately, my contributions focus on building the foundation of a movement that empowers children while strengthening the communities they grow up in.
Destinee: What makes your city's work unique within the TWC4K movement?
West Palm Beach represents a central hub of vision and leadership within the Together We Create 4 Kids movement. What makes our city’s work unique is the focus on creating experiences that inspire both the present generation and the leaders shaping the future. Our goal is to build an environment where storytelling, education, leadership, and community collaboration come together in a meaningful way.
In West Palm Beach, we are not only creating opportunities for children to connect with books, authors, and creative expression, but we are also highlighting the importance of recognizing those who dedicate their lives to service and leadership. One major element of our city’s contribution is hosting the Together We Create 4 Kids Gala, which will bring together community leaders, authors, speakers, and supporters to celebrate the movement and the impact being created across the tour.
In addition to the gala, West Palm Beach will also host a separate Honorary Doctorate Ceremony dedicated to recognizing individuals whose work has demonstrated exceptional leadership, community service, and commitment to empowering others through education and advocacy.
By creating these two signature events, West Palm Beach helps elevate the movement beyond traditional programming. It becomes a place where children are inspired, communities are connected, and leaders are honored for the legacy they are building. Together, these experiences reflect the larger vision of Together We Create 4 Kids uniting people, celebrating impact, and creating pathways for future generations to thrive.
Destinee: What measurable outcomes, success stories, or positive changes have you seen through your work with children and families?
One of the most meaningful outcomes I have seen through my work with children and families is the way engagement increases when young people are placed in environments that celebrate creativity, leadership, and expression. When children are given the opportunity to participate in interactive experiences with authors and community leaders, their curiosity and confidence begin to grow. Many children who initially attend quietly often become the most engaged participants by the end of the experience asking questions, sharing ideas, and expressing interest in writing, storytelling, and leadership.
Another important result has been the strengthening of family engagement around literacy and education. When parents and guardians attend community-centered programs with their children, they begin to see new ways to support learning at home. These experiences help transform reading and storytelling into shared family activities rather than school-only responsibilities.
We have also seen measurable growth in community collaboration. Local businesses, educators, creators, and community advocates have begun working together to support programs that benefit youth. This collaboration creates a network of support where children are not only encouraged academically but also exposed to entrepreneurship, creativity, and leadership.
What makes these outcomes meaningful is that the impact continues long after the event itself. Children leave with new inspiration, families gain stronger connections to community resources, and local leaders become more invested in supporting youth development. These ripple effects demonstrate how intentional community engagement can create lasting positive change for both children and the families who support them.
Destinee: What is your vision for the future of your work and your role within Together We Create 4 Kids?
My vision for the future of this work is to help Together We Create 4 Kids grow into a lasting movement that connects creativity, education, and community development on a national level. I believe the power of storytelling, literacy, and collaboration can create new pathways for children to discover their talents, develop leadership skills, and see opportunities that extend far beyond their immediate surroundings.
In the future, I see Together We Create 4 Kids expanding into more cities, bringing together authors, educators, entrepreneurs, and community advocates who share a commitment to investing in the next generation. The goal is to create environments where children are surrounded by inspiration, mentorship, and access to resources that encourage them to think bigger about their future.
My role within this vision is to continue helping build platforms that allow creators and community leaders to work together in meaningful ways. When people unite their gifts, knowledge, and experiences, it becomes possible to build systems that uplift families and strengthen communities over time.
I also see the movement evolving beyond events into long-term initiatives that support literacy, youth leadership, and creative development. By creating networks that connect people across cities and communities, Together We Create 4 Kids can become a powerful example of how collaboration can transform lives.
Ultimately, the vision is to help build a future where children grow up surrounded by opportunity, inspiration, and communities that actively support their dreams and potential.
Destinee: How can readers support, connect with, or get involved with your work?
Readers who believe in empowering children and strengthening communities can support this mission by purchasing a sponsor package for the Together We Create 4 Kids Tour. Sponsorship directly helps fund literacy initiatives, community events, and programs designed to place books and educational resources into the hands of children and families who need them most.
Each sponsor package contributes to expanding the reach of the tour while helping create meaningful experiences where children can meet authors, hear powerful stories, and see real examples of leadership, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Sponsors also play an important role in helping bring communities together through events that inspire learning, collaboration, and positive youth development.
Beyond financial support, individuals and businesses can also participate by partnering with the movement, sharing the mission within their networks, and helping connect the tour with schools, organizations, and families who would benefit from these opportunities.
